  • The memories you create, files you upload, and chats you generate belong entirely to you.
  • We store this information only so Fishbrain can function — to recall context, summarize information, and serve you.
  • No human at Fishbrain reads, reviews, or analyzes your content by default. Access to your data is purely programmatic and strictly scoped to your account.
  • Your memories and conversations never leave your private workspace unless you explicitly choose to share, export, or integrate them with external services.
  • We do not sell, train on, or monetize your data in any way. Your data stays yours — always.

Technical Data:

Basic technical details (IP address, device/browser info, session cookies) used to secure your account and maintain sessions.

2. How We Use Information

  • Operate and maintain Fishbrain features (memory storage, reflection, and context injection).
  • Protect against abuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
  • Communicate essential updates and security notices.
  • Comply with applicable laws.

We don’t use your personal data for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Data Processing With AI Providers

When you choose to use external AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or xAI), only the specific snippets of text you approve are sent to those services for processing. Fishbrain does not sell, share, or license your data to any provider. Your use of each provider is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies, and you can disable integrations at any time.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • Data is stored securely in Postgres with encryption at rest and in transit.
  • Access is restricted by role, scope, and account ownership (row-level security enforced).
  • No method of digital storage is perfectly secure, but we take modern, industry-standard measures to protect your information.
  • No Fishbrain employee or contractor has routine access to user data.

5. Your Rights

You control your data. You may:

  • View, edit, export, or delete your memories, chats, and files at any time.
  • Delete your account and associated data permanently.
  • Opt out of non-essential analytics where applicable.
  • Request information about stored data by contacting us.

6. Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as needed to provide Fishbrain’s services. When you delete your content or account, we remove or anonymize it subject to backup and legal retention obligations.

7. Sharing and Disclosure

  • Service Providers: We use trusted infrastructure providers strictly for service operation.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose data only when legally required or to protect rights and prevent harm.
  • Business Transfers: If Fishbrain is merged or acquired, users will be notified before any data transfer occurs.

8. Cookies and Local Storage

Cookies and local storage are used only for authentication, user preferences, and session persistence. You may disable cookies in your browser, but Fishbrain’s login and memory features may not function correctly without them.
